The elements are cut to length, mostly as specified for individual jobs, after the stressing strands have been relieved. Typically, a saw is used.

The following differentiations are made:
For right angle cuts: standard saw, semi-automated saw, fully automated saw. For cuts at any angle, including longitudinal, a universal saw is employed.
